Rachmaninov's Prelude in C# minor Op.3 No. 2, for solo piano, edited by Ruth Laredo.
On the publication of Prelude in C# Minor Rachmaninov's reputation as a world-class composer was established overnight. This prelude has a characteristically Russian flavour, begining and ending with the sounds of bells. A technically challenging piece, it demands physical strength, clarity, and a good sustaining legato from the player.
