The pieces included in this volume are all published for the first time and include works for two flutes and piano, flute, cello and piano and voice(s), flute and piano. All are very melodious and make highly attractive additions to the flute repertoire.
One of the most prolific British composers of the 20th century, William Alwyn (1905-85) produced almost three hundred compositions in most genres: opera, ballet, orchestral, chamber, instrumental and song. Additionally, he contributed around 200 scores for the cinema and was a noted flautist and teacher.
