3 duos for 2 violas by Alessandro Rolla, edited by Ulrich Drüner. Rolla was born in Pavia in 1757 and died in 1841 in Milan. He was a renowned violist, violinist and teacher – even teaching Paganini for some time in 1795. He was also among the first composers to write a significant body of work for viola, and his passion for the viola is clear from the inspiration, freshness and polish of those works.
